Condition: Used. This press is in fair cosmetic condition with lots of scuff/scratches all over, and some big gouges and flaked areas in the blue paint.  There is light oxidation on many exposed steel parts.  The sliding parts of the main mechanism are greasy, and the oilers are low but not empty.  This unit was modernized with the Allen-Bradley controller, so there are some places where changes were obviously made in the control panel, but it looks pretty tidy in there.  We do not have a key to lock the controls enclosure.

Notes: This machine is in good working condition, with one minor annoyance: sometimes, after it has sat running but not cycling for a while, it won't start without cycling power.  Otherwise, we find it operates smoothly with normal noises, and the controls respond to user inputs as expected, as shown in the accompanying video.  This unit has been fitted with an Allen-Bradley PLC and no longer has its safety logic controlled by user-facing switches, so it has some quirks: The old switches-controlled logic would allow the unit to restart cycling after a safety was tripped, but now the entire machine must be powered off to restart cycling.  The cutting switch doesn't seem to do anything.  Sometimes, if a cycle is interrupted, we had to fiddle with mode and restart switches to get it started again.  To stop a cycle that runs continuously, we have to change the position of the Mode switch. The moving parts sound good when running, and startup is quiet, but as the motor spins to a stop there is a grunching noise (demonstrated at the end of the video) that sounds like some rubber part in the pulley and not a motor bearing, but we aren't sure without disassembling the machine.  No other testing was done.
