Our Mission
Over 30 years of finding value where others don't.
What DougDeals has become now started more than 30 years ago, the business having evolved around the same person who's core values and drive will forever remain unchanged regardless of the circumstance.
Doug used to drive to Mexico with a truck and trailer, trying to get his hands on pottery, art, rugs, wooden carvings, and anything else that might sell well at his roadside stand. In 1997, Doug discovered eBay, and the most significant evolution to this business occurred. Things sold for so much more online instead of in a brick and mortar store. Before long however, the people he was buying from started selling on eBay and he was no longer an asset.
Doug started going to any garage sale he could, realizing that this huge group of buyers were starved of merchandise that spanned way beyond folk art and rugs from Oaxaca. Back then he would call up his wife, and have her look on the computer to determine what something was worth on the world wide web.
It went on like this for a good while, as he slowly increased the size of the business till he could no longer fit inside a 3,000 square foot warehouse. Now we are jammed up in 90,000 square feet, with too much junk and not enough people to list it.
We have people calling us daily wanting us to pick up equipment from different facilities throughout the state. We try as hard as we can to create value from the things that would otherwise end up unused, and thrown away. Nowadays we have multiple people that spend their entire day disassembling large equipment from the contract manufacturing and semiconductor industry to harvest all of the valuable components and recycle them in a manner that we can extract the most value, and create the least amount of waste.
The philosophy has not changed, and Doug still goes out everyday looking for something that somebody else is just about giving it away, to get it to somebody who wants it for way more money.
If you want a glimpse into the other half of the stuff you use and consume on a daily basis, we provide a pretty unique perspective. With over 10,000 items live on eBay at any given time, there is no shortage of variety.
What We Deal In
We acquire equipment and components from a wide range of sources throughout Texas. We evaluate and resell anything that we can, and sort and recycle whatever is not likely to sell. The goal: create a huge surplus of equipment that can serve a huge range of people and industries, at a price that is reasonable.
