Condition: Refurbished by Seller. Comes in non-original packaging. This microscope and its accessories are in very good cosmetic condition with some minor signs of normal use, but nothing that affects function. The digital camera is in excellent condition. Some of the components are brand new, see the 'Included'. All of the microscope's optics and eyepieces have been professionally cleaned by our microscopy department. The scope's actual magnification of a 90s-era silicon wafer is shown in the last two photos.  NOTE:  Any dust/debris seen in the photos is on the wafer, not in the optics of the microscope.

Doug Deal Factoid: The short scratches that can be seen on the tiny squares (called “wafer bond pads”) at the bottom of the magnification photos were caused by a wafer prober breaking through the oxide layer of the wafer. This is done to each die on the wafer to test and ensure functionality before the dies are cut. Each die is then removed from the wafer via an automated pick-and-place machine, and packaged to become a CPU - like the one inside of the device you are using right now.

Notes: The microscope camera requires AmScope software (free from the manufacturer) to power on and operate. We installed the software and verified proper operation. The last two photos show the system's actual magnification of a 90s-era 150mm silicon wafer.

Two brand-new 6V/30W bulbs are installed in this system and are only powered on for testing (less than 10 minutes of runtime). Both lights power on, and the dimmer functions properly from dim to full illumination. The coarse/fine focus knobs, eyetube adapters, and the stage plate knob mechanics all travel smoothly and easily.
