Privacy Policy

At DougDeals, we value your trust and are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. Our business primarily serves the United States; we do not market or sell to Europe. This policy describes our practices and does not replace consent where consent is required. DougDeals is operated by CDN Systems, LLC, 12510 Trails End Rd, Leander, TX 78641.

Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Information you give us: contact and account details such as name, physical address, email address, and telephone number, provided during account registration, checkout, or when you contact us. This information is required to process orders and is retained as required by law. If you buy for a business, we may also collect your company name, job title and, for tax-exempt purchases, your resale or exemption certificate. Messages sent through our contact form are collected through Jotform, the form service we use.
  • Order and transaction information: the products you purchase, order totals, and related transaction details. Payment card details are processed by our payment providers and are not stored by DougDeals. If you pay with PayPal or Venmo, those services collect your payment information directly under their own privacy policies.
  • Automatically collected information: when you use our site, we and our service providers collect device and usage information through cookies and similar technologies, for example, IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring pages, search terms you enter on our site, and interactions with our site. See "Cookies and Tracking Technologies" below.
  • Communications: your messages to us, newsletter subscriptions, and communication preferences. If you enter your email address during checkout but do not complete a purchase, we may retain your email and cart details to send an abandoned-cart reminder. If you call us, we keep a record of the call (caller number, date and what was discussed) to handle your order or question. Calls are not recorded.
  • Job applications: if you apply for a position through our Careers page, we collect the information in your application and resume, including work history and contact details. See "Job Applicants" below.

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as government identification numbers, precise location, health or biometric data, and we do not sell any such data. For some local pickups we may ask to see photo identification; we do not copy or keep it.

How We Use Information

DougDeals uses information to:

  • Process orders: fulfill purchases, calculate shipping rates, manage transactions, handle returns and warranty claims, and provide customer support.
  • Communicate with you: send order updates and, where permitted, information about new products, promotions, and updates that may interest you.
  • Operate and improve our site: understand how visitors use DougDeals, measure and improve performance, improve site search, and maintain security and prevent fraud.
  • Advertise: measure the effectiveness of our advertising and, where permitted, show relevant ads to you on other websites and platforms.
  • Meet legal obligations: keep tax and accounting records, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our Terms and Conditions.

We send newsletters to people who sign up and may email reminders about an unfinished cart after an email address is entered during checkout. Entering an email address at checkout does not by itself subscribe you to our newsletter. We do not make marketing calls or send marketing text messages unless you ask us to.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money or display third-party advertisements on our site. We share information only as needed to run our business or as required by law, including with:

  • Service providers that help us operate, such as payment processors, shipping carriers, hosting, and analytics and advertising providers (see below), solely to perform services for us. Our service providers currently include: BigCommerce (store platform and hosting); payment processors including PayPal and Venmo; shipping rate, label and carrier services (including UPS, USPS and freight carriers) that receive your shipping address and order weight to quote and ship your order; our order management system, which syncs orders between our website and our warehouse; Google (analytics and advertising); Meta (advertising measurement); Doofinder (site search); MailerLite (newsletter emails); Jotform (contact and job application forms); and YouTube (embedded videos). This list may change as we change providers; the categories will stay the same.
  • Legal and safety recipients: law enforcement or others when we believe disclosure is required by a valid legal order or necessary to protect our rights, customers, or the public.
  • Business transfers: if DougDeals is sold or merged, customer information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

Some sharing of online identifiers with advertising and analytics partners for targeted advertising may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under certain U.S. state privacy laws. You can opt out; see "Your Privacy Choices" and "Your Privacy Rights."

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies, which are small files placed on your device. We use them in a few categories:

  • Strictly necessary: required for the site and checkout to function.
  • Functional: remember your preferences and power features such as site search and embedded videos.
  • Analytics: help us understand site usage so we can improve it (see Google Analytics 4 below).
  • Advertising: help us measure and deliver relevant advertising (see Google Ads and Meta below).

We manage these technologies using Google Consent Mode, set through Google Tag Manager. For visitors in the United States and most other regions, analytics and advertising technologies operate on an implied-consent basis, and you may opt out at any time as described below. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google's analytics and advertising storage is disabled by default and is used only where consent is obtained. We also honor recognized browser-based opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control (GPC): if your browser sends the GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of targeted advertising on this site. We do not respond to the older "Do Not Track" browser setting, which has no agreed meaning.

Google Analytics 4

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our pages. GA4 collects information about visits and purchases, including browser identifiers, page activity, and approximate location. Google uses IP addresses for purposes including approximate location and spam detection. For traffic outside the EU, Switzerland, and UK, Google states that encrypted IP information may also be used by linked Google Ads accounts according to the applicable settings. We enable email-address redaction as an additional safeguard. Information generated about your site usage is transmitted to and stored by Google. You can opt out of Google Analytics across sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Google Ads and Advertising

We use Google Ads to promote our products and to measure advertising performance (for example, conversion tracking when a purchase is completed) and, where permitted, remarketing. These services may use cookies and online identifiers to attribute conversions and show relevant ads. When you complete a purchase, we also send Google a hashed (scrambled) version of the email address, name and address you entered so Google can match the purchase to an ad click ("enhanced conversions"). Google does not share this data with other advertisers. We load Google tags through Google Tag Manager. You can control the ads you see and how your data is used for advertising through your Google Ad Settings and optout.aboutads.info. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram) Advertising

Our site uses the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API, provided through our store platform, to measure the results of our Facebook and Instagram advertising and, where permitted, to show relevant ads to people who have visited our site. Meta may receive information such as the pages you view, products you add to your cart or buy, your IP address, browser information and, for purchases, hashed contact details, and may combine it with information in your Meta account. For visitors in California we have enabled Meta's Limited Data Use setting. You can control how Meta uses this information in your Facebook Ad Preferences, and the "Your Privacy Choices" link at the bottom of every page also switches the pixel off on this site. Meta's handling of data is described in the Meta Privacy Policy.

Other Services on Our Site

Site search is powered by Doofinder, which receives the terms you search for and your recent searches to return results. Newsletter sign-ups and newsletter emails are handled through MailerLite. Our contact and job application forms are hosted by Jotform. Some pages embed YouTube videos, which may set YouTube cookies when played. Each of these providers processes information on our behalf and under its own privacy policy.

Your Privacy Choices

You can opt out of the use of your information for targeted advertising and related "sale"/"sharing" at any time by using the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer of our website, which opens a short form. Your choice is saved in the browser you are using, so please repeat it on other devices or if you clear your cookies. You can also:

  • Enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) in a supported browser or extension; we honor it automatically.
  • Manage or block cookies through your browser settings.
  • Use the Google and Meta opt-out tools linked above.
  • Email sales@dougdeals.com and we will apply your opt-out to the information we hold.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete it; to obtain a portable copy; to opt out of targeted advertising and any "sale" or "sharing" of your information; and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Residents of California (under the CCPA/CPRA), Texas (under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act), and other states with comparable laws may exercise these rights, and may appeal a decision we make about a request. We extend these rights to all of our U.S. customers regardless of state.

If you have an account, you can review and update your contact details and addresses at any time by signing in. Otherwise, or for anything you cannot change yourself, contact us at sales@dougdeals.com or (877) 328-9236, or use the "Your Privacy Choices" link for advertising opt-outs. We will verify your request as required by law and respond within 45 days or the timeframe the applicable law provides. You may use an authorized agent where permitted.

To appeal a decision about your privacy request, reply to our response or email sales@dougdeals.com with "Privacy appeal" in the subject. We will respond as required by applicable law and, where applicable, explain how to contact your state authority.

EEA, UK, and Switzerland Visitors

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we do not set Google analytics or advertising cookies without your consent, and we do not sell or ship to those regions. If you contact us from there, we process your message to reply to you (our legitimate interest) and you may ask us to delete it at any time.

Email Communications

You may stop newsletters and promotional cart reminders by following the unsubscribe instructions in the message or contacting sales@dougdeals.com. Necessary order, account, return, and security messages may still be sent. Our staff may text you from a store phone about your own order or pickup if you have given us a mobile number. These are one-to-one messages typed by a person; we do not send automated or marketing text messages. If you would rather not be texted, tell the person who texted you or email sales@dougdeals.com.

Job Applicants

If you apply for a job through our Careers page, we use your application and resume only to evaluate you for the position and to contact you about it. Applications are collected through Jotform and stored securely. We keep applications for up to 12 months after the position is filled, unless you ask us to delete yours sooner or we are required to keep them longer. We may share applicant information with background-check or payroll providers only after an offer is made and with your consent. We do not use applicant information for marketing.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, comply with legal, tax, and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, after which it is deleted or de-identified. Order records are typically kept for seven years for tax purposes. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Website analytics data is kept by Google for two months (event data) and up to 14 months (user data).

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and payment processing by PCI-compliant providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Customers who believe their information has been compromised should contact DougDeals immediately. If a security breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

Children's Privacy

Our site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Nothing in this policy limits privacy rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. We will update the "Last updated" date above. For material changes, we will provide additional notice on this page or by email to account holders and obtain consent where required by applicable law.
