Condition: Used. Comes in non-original packaging. This lot is in fair cosmetic condition, and looks pretty nice from a few feet away. You'll see lots of minor blemishes if you look close. The spool pin on top has heavy wear and scratches. Lots of the gold decal decorations are worn away, and some of the black paint is also worn off (mostly by the thread tension adjustment and where your right hand rubs on the base when sewing. The paint on top of the machine arm is cracked. The chrome plating on the handwheel is covered in tiny scratches. An electric cable inside the base of the machine is covered in a white insulation which flackes off when touched. The belt has taken a "set" from sitting a long time. The case has lots of places where the fabric is damaged, inside and out. The case handle leather is damaged and mostly covered by black tape. The latches on the case do not spring open. The cord is a very long (about 12 feet) high visibility orange, and it is so long as to be unwieldy unless your plug is far away from your sewing area.

Notes: This machine is in working condition but it really should be given a good cleaning with kerosene, and lubrication with the proper oil and grease. When it came to us, the motor would not turn the machine and it was difficult to turn the handwheel by hand. We cleaned and oiled the works and it loosened up a lot. The motor was able to turn the machine only slowly at first, with belt skipping occasionally, and then it sped up to what sounded like full speed ... and then a horrible squeal came from somewhere in the sewing end of the machine. After sitting for a night, the machine was slow to start and then warmed up and ran at normal speed. We were able to adjust tension and obtain sewing results backward and forward as shown on our test swatch; we did not hear any squealing when sewing but it did squeak a bit. The lamp works. No other testing was done.
