Condition: For Parts or Not Working. This system is in fair cosmetic condition, with minor blemishes from prior use including scuffs/scratches/residues, lint, and some surface rust and missing paint in the usual areas. The wheels are in bad condition. There is something missing from the back of the 4000D control box which creates a giant air leak when air is applied. The looper uncoupling device is missing parts, which makes it tricky to pop the loopers out for threading. The puller lift has a bent bracket. The brackets holding the fabric-handling arms are rusty. The foam padding on the thread spool holder arms is falling apart.

Notes: This machine is in PARTIAL working condition. We were able to get it to sew with both needles with results as shown: only one stitch was consistent, and the other was hit-or-miss and not pretty. The puller did not pull fast enough and probably is out of adjustment. We found the air controls are missing enough parts to make them not usable. As it is, if air is connected, the clutch is engaged and the machine tries to sew immediately if the motor can start; we engaged the clutch manually for sewing tests. The puller takes an extra-hard push to lift. Pressing manually down on the place where the pneumatic cylinder pushes, to lift the foot, lifts the foot easily. The emergency stop switch apparently does nothing. The thread break detectors and material stop sensor are disconnected. This unit can be pushed around by two people, and rolls poorly on its damaged wheels. No other testing was done.
