Condition: Used. Comes in non-original packaging. This microscope is in Fair cosmetic condition with several notable blemishes. The objectives have LOTS of scratches on the outside, and the legends are worn including the 2x which is illegible. The bottom lenses on the 5x and 10x both have scratches and the 10x has dings in the glass . . . but surprisingly we did not notice any effect when using the microscope!  The eyepieces have minor blemishes in the coating on one and the coatings look like they're missing from the second. The eyepieces are not the correct ones and they don't slip down far enough in the eyetubes for the diopter adjustment locks to clamp onto the eyetubes.  There are lots of scuffs/scratches on the stand as well, especially on the stage which has lots of bare metal showing where operators' hands would frequently touch.  The glass stage plate has some scratches as well.  The granite plate's inspection tag says it was last calibrated in 1989. The photos show the exact item(s) the buyer will receive.

Notes: This scope is in Good working condition. We were able to get reasonable measurements on our 1/2mm machinist's scale as well as the 1mm grating on our comparator sample plate, refer to photo #3. (scale and plate are not included in this sale).  The DRO works. The stage works. The 1-2x zoom works. The stage focus and head focus mechanisms work, though the fine focus on the microscope head makes a little rubbing noise sometimes. The objective turret rotates easily but the detents at each objective position are very light so the objectives must be carefully set in place (not difficult, you get used to it).  The illumination setup is a bit of a bodge. There are separate optical fibers to plug into the illuminator for use one at a time for over- and under-stage illumination. The one for over-stage illumination (brightfield/reflected) is the worse - you have to carefully set the light to shine into the port, and sometimes it will fall if you don't set it just-so.  At 1x magnification as you can see in the pictures, a bright blob in the middle of the image is shown from the use of this kind of illumination setup. No manuals, cords/cables, or additional items are included if not listed or shown.
